How this Utah Girl met her Cali Boy, part 7

On my Southern Utah trip for Fall Break, I found out that I had won a photo contest through UPC (Union Programming Council) at the U. The prize was tickets to that upcoming Monday's production of Thriller at Kingsbury Hall.

I was torn. Monday Night was FHE at the Corn Maze, aka prime time to see if there was anything with Cam. Monday was also my parents anniversary...which turned out perfectly. I ended up giving the tickets to them so that they could celebrate, and not with the YSA ward.

So, the time for the Corn Maze came. I was stoked. I was also happy because since it was the first week after Fall Break, the new rounds of clinicals hadn't started yet, so I was able to go to FHE at all. I met at the church, but then ended up driving myself because I stopped by my house to grab a bigger coat.

The rest of the corn maze is kind of a blur, but I remember that we all started out in a group, but then at some point Cam and I ended up going off on our own, away from the group. It was a dream come true. We went around the maze together, but he didn't hold my hand at all, even with me making it very available to be held.

We got to the exit of the maze before the rest of our group, so we decided to just wait at the exit for them. We started joking about how I am always cold so that I was glad that I went home to get a bigger coat, while Cam was just wearing a little jacket and said that he wasn't cold.  That led to me stating that my hands were still cold, which FINALLY led to Cam holding my hand...for like 5 seconds. Ha ha, he then heard our friends coming out of the maze so he let go pretty quick. (Don't worry, I have called him a chicken many times since then).

After the maze, we went on our frequent Monday Night outings to Applebees. Cam and I ended up driving together, so then we sat next to each other. I was really happy and excited...then Cam spent a good portion of the time talking with the girl sitting on the other side of him, which was a new girl to our ward. I was bummed. I was sure that he was into her more than me. So I spent the rest of the time at Applebees trying to make the best of it, which is actually the night that me and my friend Chase kind of bonded and became good friends.

I thought that any chance of something happening between Cam and I was dwindling before my eyes.

August 15th, 2015, aka the Start of Our Forever, part 4

The rest of the reception is a bit of a blur, with seeing all of our friends and family going through the line. I mainly just remember a lot of happiness!

After the line died down, it was time to party! Cam and I got some ice cream, then cut our cupcake! And of course, I smashed it in his face, cause what else would you expect me to do??

After cutting our cupcake, the doughnut pyramid was disassembled for the guests to partake! Then, I did my bouquet toss to Single Ladies! My friend Rachel caught the bouquet and she was pretty stoked!

Finally, time for dancing! We first did the father/daughter dance, which I basically the bawled through the whole thing. Thanks Dad...ha ha. Then Cam and his mom did a mother/son dance, which was adorable. Then, it was time for our first dance, which was to Alo Key's "The Day I Met You". I loved it!

Enough with the mushy stuff, then it was time to party! We partied with family and my friends for like a half an hour, but then it was time to head out! Cam and I went inside to change and get our stuff and we came out to lines of sparklers! I loved it because Cam proposed with sparklers (a post to hopefully come shortly!).

We finished walking through the sparkly line and I expected to see either mine or Cam's car decorated by our siblings, but to my surprise we had a fancy car being driven by my next door neighbor, Wendy, waiting for us! My mom had set it all up for us, as Wendy drives for Diamond Limousine.

It worked out perfectly, because I was worrying beforehand about what we were gonna do with our car the next day, as my mom was going to be driving us to the airport in the morning so that we wouldn't have to pay for parking for a week. So, we got in the car and enjoyed some sparkling cider in fancy glasses on the way up to the University Guest House (on the U Campus) where we were spending the night before heading off to Disneyland!

Well, that's it! That is the story of our wedding day! Stay tuned for the next post that will have our temple and reception video!

August 15th, 2015, aka the Start of Our Forever, part 3

Our luncheon was just at our church building, and we had Chick-fil-a catering platters of the chicken strips, nuggets, chicken salad sandwiches, fruit, and cookies! It was delish! Cam's mom and sister-in-law had set up the gym the day before with a bunch of tables with beautiful flower centerpieces. Unfortunately I didn't have my photographers come to the luncheon and I don't think anyone took pictures of it. It was fun having both of our families there to eat and celebrate with us!

Cam and I stayed to help clean up the luncheon and then we headed first to my house for me to change out of my church dress and into some basketball shorts, then went to his/his sister's house. Once we got there, I zonked out on Cam's bed. I was exhausted! Cam snuggled with me for a bit, but then he hung out with his family for a few hours before the reception.

Cam woke me up at 4:30 and informed me that my hair had totally come out, so I texted my sister to have her come early to the reception so that she could fix my hair. *HUGE Shout Out to her for being willing to do my hair for me multiple times that day!* I then headed back to my house to start to get ready for the reception. I got home and the backyard looked AWESOME!! Mom had done an amazing job with all of the decorations!

Then I went into the kitchen and saw our doughnut cake! Holy Moly it was amazing!! I don't like cake, so we had a Dunford Chocolate Doughnut pyramid cake! Our cake topper is a rockin' out Minnie and Mickey, cause Disney. We loved it!

A lady in our home ward, Melanie Ward, did all of our flowers, including the ones on the doughnut pyramid. They all turned out gorgeous!

Emily came over and fixed my hair, then it was time to get back into my dress. At 6pm, the wedding party started to arrive to take pictures before the reception. I may be biased, but I'd have to say that our wedding party was the best! With it being a mixture of family members and best friends, we all had a great time!

After we took pictures, it was about that time for the reception to start! Leatherby's had arrived and set up. Then, the first guests began to arrive!

Pedicure, Parties, and Passing the Time

My Memorial Day Weekend was more eventful than I first anticipated it would be.

Friday afternoon we went up to the family cabin and spent some quality time with the HamFam :)
Taking crazy pics is the best way spend time in the car

My Family=The Greatest

That, my friends, is a Maple Bacon Shake! It is from High Mountain Drug Store in the tiny town of Kamas, Utah. All of their shakes are DELISH! Probably the best shakes I've ever had, and that's in comparison to La Beau's Shakes in Garden City, Bear Lake, Utah!

Up there, we have no cell service. So, as we got home on Saturday night and my dad plugged his phone in, he got a message that I had left my bathroom bag up there. Cause I'm a genius.
Then, my phone fell out of my pocket and into the toilet. Again, genius. So, into the rice bag it went!

Sunday we went to church and it was wonderful, like always. After church, my dad and I drove back up to the cabin to get my bathroom bag. We hung out there for a couple hours and took naps, then drove home in time for dinner. Mom, Dad, Michael, and I then watched Get Smart. That movie is so so funny! I recommend it to anyone :)

Monday, aka Memorial Day, I was the first one up, at like 8:30am. My mom actually slept in for once! Crazy! I got ready and then watched an episode of SMASH on Hulu (super sad that the series got cancelled). Once everyone else was up and ready, we went to Village Inn for good grades breakfast! I love breakfast from that place! Yum :)
Then, later that day, Mom and I went and got pedicures. Mom has gotten them a bunch of times, but this was my first one. And I think I can say that I'm not a super huge fan of them. The lady working on me made me bleed, so that wasn't super comfortable. But, the whole time this video was all I could think of!

This is the finished product:
Had to go with the bright yellow!

Then, Em and  Jess came over and we went to visit Grandpa Love's grave. The cemetery looked so pretty with all of the flowers there, but I forgot my camera so I couldn't take a picture of it :(
After the cemetery, we came home and had a BBQ! It was delicious! After dinner is when the fun really started! We had some wooden benches that were breaking, so we took a baseball bat to them. Now, we have a giant pile of firewood!

Overall, it was a pretty good weekend with some adventures! And my phone is now working again! Hopefully it stays functional! :)

Healthy Life

I have decided that I need to live a healthier life.
While my life isn't terribly unhealthy, which is a large part due to my mom and her health-consciousness, I could definitely be better.

I have been inspired by my cousin, Morgan. She is so motivated to "Be Healthy" and always seems to stay on track. She told me today that what got her the most motivated was not thinking "skinny" (which she already is anyways), but that she thought "healthy" instead.

So, today I start to be healthier. Today I challenge myself to get out of bed each morning to just MOVE in some way. Today, I want to be able to not feel guilty when I eat ice cream.

Today, I want to be a better me.

To start off today, I actually made my lunch instead of just sticking something from the freezer into the microwave.

Turkey, Ham, Cheese, and Lettuce Wrap on a Spinach and Herb Tortilla
Fruit and Light&Fit Yogurt
Crystal Light Rasberry Lemonade

This lunch with Delish! And very filling too!

So, blogger peeps, I don't cook very much. Not that I don't want to, I just don't have very many ideas and I'm all about quick and easy. If you have any quick and easy AND healthy recipes, please send them to me! I would be super grateful! My email is beccafoth@yahoo.com.

I invite anyone to join me on my quest to live a healthier life! We can send each other encouraging and motivating messages and all that jazz :) If you want to join me, email me as well!

Everyone has "off" days

Everyone has "off" days. Yesterday seemed to be one of those days.
My day started out great and I was just full of positivity and optimism, which was awesome!
Then, things just went downhill from there.
I was getting bugged by my best friend, which I thought would never ever happen, so I was double bugged.
Then I got a not-so-great score on my Advanced Anatomy test.
Which caused for a major plummet.
Kara and I walked from the bottom of campus up to the institute and didn't say a word to each other.
That is NOT normal.
I then spent the night studying (while watching The Bachelor) and chillin with my parents.

I was going to write a post yesterday about the punch to my self esteem, but decided against it due to a desire to stay positive, at least on the outside.

Today, I realized that sometimes there are days that are the major pits. And that goes for everyone.
But as long as those days are in the minority, I think that I'm doing pretty good with this crazy ride called LIFE!

Here are some things that are a sure fire way to pick up my spirits:

~Listening to "Dancing Through Life" on the Wicked Soundtrack

~Talking face-to-face with my Brother and Best Friend, Michael :)
(pic taken on Junkyard Jamboree Ride at Cars Land in California Adventure)

~Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream on a Dunford's Chocolate Cake Donut, topped with Caramel Sauce
~Watching "The Office"

(I take that to mean that there is always hope!)

~REALLY Reading and Diving into the Scriptures
~Straightening up my room (controlling something that I am able to control totally)

So readers (a lot of which are new, so welcome to my journey!), what are some of the ways that are guaranteed to bolster your mood?

Superbowl Surmises

Watching the Superbowl
Eating great food
Lets get this Niners
A win would be good!

I would like to recognize that I just thought that up in a period of about 30 seconds.
It is the 4th Quarter with 4:28 left in the game and the 49ers are down by 2. I gotta have faith that they can pull it out!

Anyways, vegging on the couch, eating my weight in bread and spinach artichoke dip, and feeling guilty that I haven't been working on my homework at all, I decided that to not feel so guilty that right now would be a good time to think and blog.

This weekend has been a pretty interesting one. Friday day I got to watch my High School Drill Team, the Copper Hills Azurettes, take state for the first time! Then, I got to go over to my great friend Whitney's house and watch a movie with some great friends and some fairly attractive men :) Eye Candy is always great right??

Then, Saturday was interesting. I had my LDSSA retreat up at Camp Tracy. We had dinner (Cafe Rio, awesome as always), then had some leadership training, then went sledding. It was a pretty fun night, but I just felt out of the loop with everyone. Maybe it was cause the sledding was kind of terrifying and the hill was way longer than I expected.

Then on the way back to the institute, there was a conversation in the car I was in that I had to hold my tongue multiple times. Turns out, the other girl in the car had the same thoughts as I did. To sum it up, one of the guys in the car was talking about how he was glad that girls could go on a mission sooner so that he wouldn't have to wait as long to marry a returned sister missionary that was younger than him, and that he only wants to marry a returned missionary because they "are better" than women who don't go on a mission (Those weren't his exact words, but that was what I took from what he said). The other girl in the car is in the same boat as I am. We want to go and have always thought about going, but we are meant to stay here for right now.

Alright, now to what I really wanted to post about. Is that really what young single adult men are thinking? That if a girl isn't going on a mission that something is wrong with her? I don't know if any guys read my blog but I am really wondering this. Now, I am sure that not all guys think this, but is it pretty common nowadays?

Anyways, the Niners just lost. Boo. But it's ok, I'm not super upset about it.

Have a Super Sparkly Day!

So, I love that commercial. It cracks me up every time. If you haven't seen it and don't know what I'm talking about, watch it here. Seriously, just finding that video to link to and I was giggling :)

Do you ever have those days where they are just great all the way through, no matter what?
No matter what is thrown at you or is put in your path, nothing can get you down?

Well, today my friends, is one of those days :)

It started with waking up from a wonderful dream and I was already smiling.
Then, after family scripture study, I decided that sleeping sounded better than showering.
So I slept for a bit longer.
As I got up, I decided that I didn't care if I didn't look super great or professional.
I was all about comfy today.
I put my hair on top of my head and a sparkly, sequin headband on.

I wore sweats instead of jeans.
I then went to the trax station and road trax to school with a good friend (who is also good looking!).
I got to class early and could just chill for a bit.
The class content included a lot that I had already learned from my CNA course.
So I didn't have to access a lot of brain power.
Then Institute class was super great and spiritual, as always.
Especially cause I have it with Whit!
There were free cookies and milk and chips and salsa at the institute!
The above statement then made Whit and I super hyper.
Also Whit's lack of sleep contributed ;)
We hung out at the 'tute with a guy from our class and laughed hysterically.
I go out to ride trax home and the same good looking friend is at the station!
At home, I submitted my Nursing School Application! Eeek!
Now, John Schmidt and Steven Sharp Nelson (aka Piano Guys) is playing in the background.

Great day?? Yes :)

So, I wish you all to have a Super Sparkly Day! I know mine is :)
