Real People...What??

Tomorrow I embark on the next step of this crazy journey I call my life. That next step is nursing school clinicals. With real people. In a hospital. That I have to take care of.

I'm terrified.

I have a lot of people around me that are in nursing school a semester ahead of me, have been through nursing school, and current nurses that have told me that I will love it and that it really is no big deal. I am sure at some point I will have those same feelings, but right now, the day before my first day, I am scared out of my mind.

*what if someone codes*
*what if I hurt someone*
*what if I can't put in an IV on a real person*
*what if I have an emotional breakdown in the middle of shift*

These are just some of the thoughts that have been running through my head for the past couple of days.

But tomorrow is gonna come. No matter how bad I don't want it to.

And I'm gonna make it through.

Blog World, It's Been A While

My last post was in November.
My last post about what is going on in my life was at the beginning of October.
Then life just got in the way and blogging was near the bottom of my priority list.

Here we are now, in January 2014, on my last day of Winter break and I realized that I should probably update this thing before my life gets crazy busy again.

So, here are some October highlights:

The Utes beat #3 ranked Stanford and we rushed the field!

Blackout Game with Dane and Muffin!

Mom surprised me with a Disneyland Trip for Fall Break!

Went to see Imagine Dragons at Weber State with Ty!

Now, onto November:
First Utah Basketball Game of the 2013-2014 season with Muffin

My amazing Grandma Love passed on to start her next adventure in Heaven

Drove to and from Eugene, Oregon in less than 42 hours for the Utah vs. Oregon Football Game with an amazing crew!
Collected a lot of food and Money for the University of Utah Food Drive
The Final Football Game of the 2013 Season against Colorado
*Rumble in the Rockies*

Time for December:

Went and saw "The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug" with my Pops at the midnight showing

My best friend Kara had her adorable baby boy, Jaymison!

Witnessed the Runnin Utes take down the Cougars in their Men's Bball Matchup

Talked to my brother, Elder Fotheringham, over Facetime on Christmas and announced to him that my sister is pregnant!

Went downtown and saw the lights with my great friend Elise and met some great new friends

These last couple of months have been great and full of school and various Utes related activities! The new semester starts tomorrow, meaning that my life is about to get busy again, filled with more school and even more Utes experiences! Hopefully I can stay more updated on this thing throughout this next semester!

Happy start of a new year!

Plan of Salvation in Union Square

A few weeks ago, one of my neighbors tagged me in a post on Facebook containing this video.
So, I watched it.

As I watched, I realized it was in New York.

My brother is serving a mission in New York.

Then, I saw him.

And I bawled. Cause I'm an emotional wreck all the time.

My brother, Elder Fotheringham, is wearing a light blue shirt, jeans, and black shoes with green soles. In fact, that is his arm in the picture before you start the video.

This video has gone viral, at least around Utah it has. The Zone Leader (the missionary at the very beginning of the video being interviewed) has a blog and decided to do this Plan of Salvation Project and would then post pictures from it on his blog. Then, one of the members of the church in the area came and filmed it for them and made this video.

Within 72 hours of this project, the Zone Leader's blog, "Reach" My Gospel, had received over 14,000 views!

Then, Deseret News heard about the story and decided to make a call to New York! You can read the article about it here.

Missionary work can be done in various, creative ways. It is not just about knocking on doors. If missionaries in New York can draw the Plan of Salvation in chalk in the middle of Union Square, I can talk to those around me about the gospel that I love so much.

In this words of Al Fox Carraway, #UseTheInternetForGood :)

Can it be January 19th yet?

Sherlock-Season-3-EW-Exclusive.jpg
Sherlock. Oh, Sherlock.

This show is amazing. A-MA-ZING.

It is a BBC show that is also aired on PBS in the U.S. There are 2 seasons that have been aired. Each season only has 3 episodes, but the episodes are each an hour and a half in length.

This show is the perfect mix of solving crimes and mysteries, action, humor, family drama, arch-nemesis, and friendship.
Also, Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman are brilliant together.

I found out yesterday that the 3rd season is scheduled to air in the U.S. on January 19th, 2014! Article about it here!

If you haven't watched the first 2 seasons, you have until January 19th to get caught up :) They are available to view on Netflix and Hulu.

Trust me, it will be the best TV decision you have ever made.

Becca

Dear Muffin Top,
So Close. But yet so far.

Becca

Dear Terminal,

Love,
Becca

Dear Thomas the Tank Engine,

It may not be totally accurate, but I feel like it's close ;) Also, slightly hilarious.
Love,
Becca

End of September

Yes, I know it's already October, but life got in the way of making this post happen this week, so here we are now :)

I love this song and it pretty much sums up my month of September.

Here are some photos from my September :)

When Ty came home from his mission to Brazil!

Homecoming/Football Games :)

Redfest! Andy Grammar and Karmin came!

LDSSA Retreat to Heber Valley Girls Camp! Yes, that is snow on the ground!

Quick Update!

Remember that one time that I blogged??

Yeah, me neither.

Life is crazy and my mind is spinning with drug facts and mechanisms of action, indications, contraindications, and side effects.

So, I thought I should take 30 seconds and provide you with a quick update!

Nursing School controls my life, but that was to be expected.
LDSSA is as great as ever!
I didn't do UFIT this semester and it makes me sad that I can't see cute Hudson every week.
Homecoming Week went great and I love SAB!
*UBook Tradition Post to come soon!*
I got to see Andy Grammar and Karmin at Redfest, which was an absolute blast!

The Holy War has been suspended for 2 years after a GLORIOUS Utah win! The Mighty Utes will again rival the TDS (team down south) in 2016.

OH, and this kid comes home tomorrow. I'm kinda excited ;)

Well, that's all for now folks!
Hopefully after my pharmacology test destroys me, I'll be able to find some time to write a few more posts :)
